Sombreros

In the center of Santiago, Chile there is a long street market that sets up each day on a wide sidewalk that stretches for close to a mile.

Unlike many tourist markets I saw during my long trip to nine different countries, this one is more like an outdoor department store where each department has a single owner.

The goods that were for sale were not necessarily hand made by local artisans. Most of the merchandise seemed very similar or the same as what you would buy in the stores standing just behind these street merchants. Low prices were the main selling point.
