Painted Flowers
In the world of photography there are many approaches to creating a final image.
Some believe in what is called “straight photography,” which requires the photographer to present images with as little editing as possible, straight from the camera.
Others put more emphasis on what happens in the traditional or digital darkroom. The image coming from the camera is just the start. What you do with it using developing tools is what gives you a final image worth sharing.
I tend toward the first approach since much of my work is related to telling stories of actual places and events, but for this series of photos from the Elizabeth Park rose garden in Hartford, Connecticut I used some editing techniques for a more painterly result.
