The Andes of Peru

When I think of Peru I think of the Andes Mountains. It is why I wanted to go to Peru.

The Andes stretch the entire length of South America. Four thousand and 300 miles. But in my imagination they are the most beautiful in Peru. This of course is an impossible conclusion, because the nature of their beauty changes from the southern most tip of the continent all the way to the north.

What impresses me about the Peruvian Andes is their tendency to be so high that they poke through the clouds. They protect the lowlands of the west from weather coming from the east. It can be summer at the base and winter at the top. Jungle on the way up and nothing but cold stone once you get there.
