The Task at Hand
A tradition can play out once a year or every day.
In the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal people meet in public squares to conduct business, discuss the events of the day and solve the world’s problems.
It is not so different from any other town anywhere else.
These men carry on the tradition with humor and self deprecation. There is both an easiness and knowing in the way they carry on. Smiling. Shoulder to shoulder in brotherhood. Watching the same scenes play out before them each morning as they have for generations.
Some day someone will take their place. But for now this is there responsibility and they take the job as seriously as it should be taken.
