Buenos Aires

I found Buenos Aires to be a wonderful European style city in the warm climate of South America.

The streets are wide, shady and mostly safe. By the end of my time there I would become a victim of a common street scam that cost me my passport and other valuables, but that does not diminish my overall impressions of the city as a place I would want to live if I had a reason to leave the United States.

The architecture is a mix of old buildings dating back to the 1700’s and 1800’s, Art Deco and what we now call mid-century modern. Although the region around Buenos Aires is home to 15 million people, the city itself never felt crowded and its pace is laid back - including a two hour lunch break in the early afternoon.
