The Mission District Murals

The Mission District of San Francisco has been primarily populated by Mexican and Central American immigrants since the 1960’s. It is a sprawling collection of neighborhoods colorfully painted with street murals at almost every turn.

Some of the murals celebrate life in Central and South America. Some serve as political commentary related to events back home or here in the United States.
