Beach Abstractions
Watch Hill, Rhode Island.
Mid-evening in high summer the sun glances off the beach casting diffuse light on everything it touches.
It reveals a rainbow of colors where the eye initially sees only the familiar tones of sand, sky and water.
The spectrum is most visible at the point where the tide meets land and the salt water gently brushes over the beach pushing some of it further inland and pulling some of it out to sea.
Like any art, the images created by nature are unique to the viewer. What might you see?
