New Face of Boston
Michelle Wu has been elected mayor of Boston.
She is the first woman elected to the position and she is the first Asian-American to serve in the city’s top office. She will be sworn in in less than two weeks.
She moved to Boston to attend Harvard and says she knew she was home as soon as she arrived. Her election says a lot about the political evolution of Boston and may send a signal about what is possible nationally in the current era of rancorous politics.
I visited Boston in mid-October to get a closer look at the candidates and the issues.
