Atacama Desert

In the desert the roads seem endless.

While riding a mountain bike through the Atacama Desert in northern Chile using a sign in the distance as a turn around point proved to be deceiving. It always seemed as if I was just a quarter of a mile away, but that illusion kept repeating itself every quarter mile.

This road to the Andes is just outside the small town of San Pedro de Atacama.
