Peru

I have always wanted to travel to Peru. I am captivated by the Andes Mountains. The very idea of them.

I have never been on an ATV before, but one morning in December I joined a group of four other tourists for a quad ride through central Peru about an hour away from the town of Cusco(Cuzco). We used dirt roads and actually drove through the center of one small town on its main roads. It was easy to learn and fun.

My only disappointment was not being able to stop more often to photograph the beautiful scenery. If I return to South America again I think I will travel on my own by car or motorcycle so I can better explore the backroads and stop whenever I’d like. It would be a slow ride.
