Haight-Ashbury
The Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco was known as the center of the hippie culture during the 1960’s and early ‘70’s. That also made it a center of resistance to American involvement in the Vietnam War.
As you walk the neighborhood today you can clearly see there are older visitors who fully understand its historic significance. There are others who just think it’s a cool neighborhood. Some of the store fronts pay homage to the past. Others less so.
