The Strand Bookstore
The Strand Bookstore, at the corner of Broadway and East 12th Street, has been open since 1927.
On this day, the sign behind the discount book racks caught my eye, because of its reference to current events and the one woman customer who is “persisting” in her search for a good book at the right price.
A few stalls down, two men happened to be foraging in a somewhat sinister way for bargain books under a sign that reads, “I Read Banned Books.”
Cute. Right?
The Strand claims to have 18 miles of books for sale and many loyal customers.
