Nepal is one of the poorest nations on earth.

Experts say there are several reasons the country has trouble lifting its population out of poverty. One reason seems to be a general acceptance by the people that things are the way they are and they can’t be changed.

During my visit I noticed all the school children, dressed in school uniforms and reporting to class six days a week. Especially in the case of the teenagers they seemed to carry a different attitude toward life. I wonder if this generation of Nepalis can make a difference for their country because of their exposure to how the outside world lives. They may not be willing to settle for the way things have always been.
